Here is week 5 of Song du Jour. It’s called “If I Could Say Goodbye”. Not much to say about it, but I’ve had this progression for a little while and a suggestion of a melody so this morning I put some words with it. Enjoy! Or not. As always!

Take all our words and box them up
Wrap a little bow on it and then just shut it
But it’s just too much for me to do right now
I need to move on somehow

I’d have to let go of why
Make a memory of the past and let it go
And let today lead tomorrow into the unknown
I hear your voice in my sleep
But when I try to speak
I don’t make a sound for me
I guess it’s too much for me to do right now

This is me saying goodbye
It’s harder than it was in my mind
