Gunk Fork

‘Tash and I went to celebrate her engagement and another ‘deal’ in the works. We went to City Crab to eat some crustaceans. It had been some time since I’d eaten a crab with all his clothes on and I was a little worried I wouldn’t be able to figure out the secret to getting inside.

But I remembered. However, there’s got to be a better way to get to the good stuff in the middle. The legs are easy. But once you crack open the inside of the crabby’s torso you have to clean out all this gunk. (I used a two fork system. One, being used for the grunt gunk work. And another being chiefly utilized for harvesting the yummy ungunked meat.)

It’s very difficult to get at the heart of the meat(mixed metaphor?) without getting some gunk on it. Also, what is the gunk? Is it their lungs? And crab poop? I mean, this isn’t stuff you want to eat. Perhaps it’s better off not knowing what it is. Even after five Maryland blue crabs, I wasn’t able to refine my degunking prowess enough to lead to total satisfaction.

Crab eaters of the world: Please help me! There must be an easier way. A process. Some sort of trick. Please advise.
